Building firm Willmott Dixon has secured a multi-million pound deal to build a retirement complex in Hampshire. The deal was signed with retirement specialist Anchor.
Bishopstoke Park near Eastleigh will be transformed into a complex of 170 homes and a 48-bed care home. There may be the possibility of street furniture like outdoor litter bins or cycle shelters being installed at the complex.
A Wellness Centre is also set to be built with a swimming pool village bistro, hair and beauty salon, and a delicatessen, constructionenquirer.com reports.
According to careindustrynews.co.uk, Willmott Dixon previously built a retirement village with Anchor in Buckinghamshire that is thought to be very similar to Bishopstoke Park.
Charlie Scherer, chief operating officer for Willmott Dixon's housing business said: "Bishopstoke Park will really make a difference to the provision of high-quality retirement housing in Hampshire, allowing residents to live independently while also benefiting from 24/7 on-site care when needed."
The contract, worth £22 million, means the building firm has already secured almost £200 million of specialist housing work this year.
The new complex, which was turned into a small hospital in the 20th century, is thought to have a completion date of sometime in the summer next year.
