Enhancing Our Public Realm and Developments
The quality of our public realm is vital if we are to be successful in creating
environments that people want to live and work in.
Macemain and Amstad offers a range of standard and bespoke covered walkways
which can have a positive and lasting effect on the local environment to the
benefit of the local economy and community.
- Increased safety: Covered walkways can be used to provide clear and covered links for pedestrians. They provide weather protection helping to prevent slips and falls, and can also provide shade.
- Improved security: Covered walkways can create visible, open and monitored spaces, facilitating 'natural surveillance', thereby deterring crime.
- Enhanced aesthetic appeal: Covered walkways can add style and character to a location creating a 'sense of place'.
- Increased functionality: Covered walkways can be used to connect different areas, making it more accessible and convenient for users.
At Dublin Airport we designed, manufactured and installed a network of walkways
to move passengers safely through the airport.
