Early next year has been earmarked for the public showing of plans for Worksop's new £3 million bus station, reports worksopguardian.co.uk.
The interchange, which is located at the junction of Newcastle Street and Watson Road, could even be ready by the summer of 2014 if all goes to plan, cites newsrt.co.uk.
New features being considered in the bus station design include a staffed information point, toilets, seating electronic information screens and CCTV for security. In addition, retail units and a café are being mulled over.
In addition, the design could also allow the creation of eight parking bays, operating a 'drive in, reverse out arrangement'. However the final design, which will be shown next year, is up to the people of Worksop.
Counsellor Richard Jackson, chairman of the transport and highways committee, believes the bus station can be a real boost for the population of the Nottinghamshire town.
He said: "The new bus station will help stimulate the economy of Worksop. We want the people of Worksop to have a bus station of which they can be proud and which they really feel is theirs.
"For that reason we will be holding a public exhibition early next year to hear people's views on what they would like to see in the bus station," he added.
